Ujjyalo Asha

Impact

60+ Senior Citizens Reached

The first span of Ujjyalo Asha was able to reach over a hundred senior citizens at an old age home. This included the team members spending quality time with them through group activities and donating over a week worth of food staples.

31 Smiles Shared

The second span of Ujjyalo Asha was able to reach 31 children at an orphanage on the day of Christmas. Our member dressed up as Santa Claus and distributed personalized gifts to each child with their names on it.

Story

Ujjyalo Asha was born from a simple observation at Pahilo Kadam: mental health struggles aren’t always loud, sometimes they show up as loneliness, silence, and being forgotten. We observed that across different age groups and communities, people were dealing with loneliness, emotional neglect, and the absence of genuine human connection. That quiet realization became the first step that brought Ujjyalo Asha to life. Ujjyalo means light and Asha means hope, and this project aims to bring both by creating moments of conversation, laughter, and emotional warmth, reminding people that they are seen, heard, and valued.
